ok, so I put the gixxer front end on the bike, but got rid of the bike and the noobie wants a speedo and my bike dont hav one anymore, so I went to put the old sv front wheel on there with the original oem speedo hookup, but two of the four teeth on the speedo pickup were broken off, so I bought a new one used off some guy, ...put the new one in and....

now the speedo reads 177mph on the freeway!!

(which is weird cuz I know that thing wont go over 135mph)

any suggestions? why that would be?

How did you fit on the OE SV front wheel with a GSX-r front?
no, i took the gixxer stuff off and put the original sv stuff back on again so he can hav a speedo.

+1 and are you sure its in mph? Mine I can switch between mph and k/h.
if it was only a problem of switching from mph to kph then it would only be off by 20 or so depending on the speed. this one is clearly at least doubling it.

1) you could have made the speedo work without swapping out whole front end again
2) kph to mph is ~1.6 factor (100mph would be 160kph)
3) what year bike did you get sensor from? Late model would indeed give double speed.
