Happy Birthday to me, thank you wifey!

Can't wait to get it. I cut off the stock can already in anticipation! I have a naked without a belly pan and can't decide if I should wrap the header for a more 'hooligan' look. Any Opinions?

I'll be sure to post a vid once it arrives. Any guesses on shipping time?

wrapping your exhaust does not make it rust faster. That makes absolutely no sense. Some people are trying to convince you that it "traps in moisture"? Are you ******* kidding? Those pipes get plenty hot to boil/burn off any condensation that might accumulate within the wrap.

Mine shipped quick, considering it was from Thailand.

OEM headers? Wrap em.

Aftermarket? Leave them bare.

Mine here.

That's what inspired me to pull the trigger. Did you use an aftermarket header? Which one if so, and $$ and where? How long did it take to arrive?

I have a (high mount) LeoVince full system header, with a Hindle R6 midpipe, the Tyga, and an M4 (race mount) bracket...

Iirc it was delivered in 7-10 days, I am East Coast for reference.

Just finished wrapping the exhaust, and today I'll paint the pipes black with high temp header paint. So far it looks awesome. Tyga pipe should be here end of next week.

I used DEI 1"x50' header wrap from Kragen and it was the perfect amount. I bought Thermo-Tec Flat Black Ceramic Header Paint.

Painted everything a ton with the Thermo-Tec paint. Went on really even and easy and I used the entire can and about 5 coats to get good coverage. I put the header back on the bike and ran the idle cycles to bake the ceramic paint. My Tyga pipe should arrive in about a week. Can't wait!!!

Ok, everything is done and about 500 miles on the new exhaust. What I did was cut the stock can off right after (towards the back) the final bend so that the new pipe would be angled backwards and have no risk of scraping at lean. I took a thin section of of slightly less O.D. pipe and stuck it about an inch into the stock midpipe, then slipped the Tyga pipe over and used that as my connection piece, then had a solid bead welded on the seam. I then wrapped the entire header, as I said before and painted it black. I wrapped over the weld seam, so that the transition from black to silver can was cleaner. The result was solid, and no use for a hangar. It looks really clean and the sound is exactly what I wanted - like a baby Desmosedici. I can claim that because I have logged itme on a Desmo, and proud of it! I'll snap some close up pics later, but I had a buddy grab this vid on the cell phone today. knew the sound is what you guys really want to here. Oh, and total cost of the project was $250. My buddy has an R6S running no pipe right now. His bike is louder than mine. With earplugs, the Tyga is not a problem at all (to me). Enjoy,,,
