Tried doing the clutch mantra and messed with the adjustor screw to get a more positive catch with my gears. Now I can shift into first and all other gears for that matter with out pulling my clutch lever.

I've completely removed the clutch lever to make sure there was nothing puuling on the clutch cable. Ive screwed the adjustor screw all the way out and in untill there arent anymore thread to put the lock nut on but that still makes no difference.

Everything seems to work just fine for normal riding. like i can pull in the lever and my bike wont stall. but with out the lever pulled in i can put minimal pressure on the foot controls and it will start to click/grind. put more pressure on it and it will go into first with out pulling the clutch lever and my bike will lunge and die. I can also do clutchless shifting now throughout a ride. I don't want that though. Will this cause wear and tear to the clutch do to it not fully engaging?

How do I fix this?

You should be able to shift without pulling the clutch in normally so that's not an issue.

Make sure you have the adjuster tightened down to where you feel light resistance, then back it out 1/4 turn and tighten the lock nut. Adjust the cable at the lever so that you have about 10mm of play at the end of the clutch lever. Set up like this, the clutch should be fully engaging and disengaging within your clutch lever pull.

I tried to tighten it untill i felt the light resistance and backed it out a little. it doesnt change anything. still acts like it isnt fully engaged. before i tried to adjust it i never could clutchless shift. too much resistance. now it'll go into gear super easy. i mean super super easy. if its not going to hurt anything then ill just keep it like it is until the next service. but im scared that if its not fully disengaging that ill just be doing more than normal wear to the clutch.

When you're riding, does it feel like you're not getting full power, especially in the lower gears? That's an indication of clutch slippage. The RPMs steadily climb but the speed of the bike increases at a disproportionate level. It will be especially apparent the more throttle you give and the lower gear you're in.

If that's the case, make sure to slacken the clutch cable at the lever by turning the adjuster all the way IN before making your pushrod screw adjustment under the sprocket cover. If you don't add the slack to the cable before the adjustment you can get some wonky results.

also, if whenever i unscrew the adjustor screw all the way out shouldnt their be some resistance when i put the bike in first with out pulling the clutch lever?
Depends which adjuster screw you mean. If you mean the lever, the clutch will be disengaged with the screw all the way out. If you mean under the sprocket cover, the clutch will always be engaged with the screw all the way out. Easiest way to diagnose it is to have it adjusted right.

When you're in first stopped with the clutch lever pulled in, if its not fully disengaging you'll feel the bike pull a bit forward. However, if the engine is cold when you shift into first, oftentimes (even with a properly adjusted clutch) the plates stick a bit and the bike can lurch RIGHT when you shift into first but will be fine after that. If you're in first with the clutch lever pulled in and the bike is not moving (don't hold the brake) you're most likely ok, especially if you've adjusted it like I said above, and like in the clutch mantra. If you still have concerns have it checked out at your next service.

Finally took my bike out for a real ride up to the mountains. Tried adjusting the push rod screw under the sprocket cover before the ride but the clutch was still acting the odd. It does seem as though my revs are not matching my speed. I noticed that when I was accelerating my revs would remain at about 7k as i switched from 1st to 2nd and 3rd. No real deviation from 7k as my bike accelerated until i went into 4th and on then is seemed to match normal revs.
