So I did an oil and filter change today and the oil goes to the top of the sight window. Can any harm be done by this. If so I'll use some tubing and suck some out.

Suck/drain some out. If it's overfilled, your clutch will drag - making gear changes notchy and neutral hard to find. If it's WAY overfilled, you might get some burped back up through the intake tract and into your air filter. The oil level should be somewhere BETWEEN the high & low marks by the level window. It doesn't have to be right at the high mark - and you don't want it over it.

Loosen the oil filter a little if you want to drain some oil. Oil tastes terrible!
