Tinting the windscreen

Hello all. I was thinking about putting a smoke colored wind screen on my 06 sv1ks. However, I had an idea of using that tail light (for cars), smoke colored, spray paint on my stocker instead of paying 80 bucks for a smoked aftermarket one..... Any thoughts? Anybody try this? How did it look?

A friend of mine just used SEM Trim Black automotive trim paint. If you have a short one or If you do not need to look through it this works nicely and makes it jet black.

I used krylon fusion black paint on the inside of mine, works/looks great.

I had a buddy who does tint and vinyl graphics for a living, do a spare windscreen for me. Due to the multiple curves in it, he had to do it in multiple pieces. It came out OK, but not as good as just buying a pretinted windscreen.
if you have a local hobby store, they should have a 'tint' spray paint used on r/c models (save on shipping)
