Can the position of the throttle tube be changed in the base (whatever the name for that piece is)? What I mean is this -- can the clamp be rotated around so that the cable come out the bottom, but still have grip in the same place as when the cables were on top?

I looked at the exploded view hoping it would clue me in, but I'm still just as clueless as before.

The reason I ask is that I'm working on a project to swap the bars that may place the throttle base slightly higher, but I've got Oxford Heaterz on there, with the heated grip bonded onto the throttle tube. It has its own cable that now comes out the bottom, and I'd like to keep it in the same place after rotating the throttle base...

And what the heck is that "base" called?

I don't think you can successfully rotate the housing without it getting in the way.

Just realized I put this in the wrong section... Should have been in the '03-'09 650 tech section. Oh well. Thanks!
