Thinking about paintin the SV soon...definately a n00b to this process...seems to me you would remove all the body parts and then spray them with a Duplicolor of somekind...maybe a couple coats...anyone ever done this or thought about it? Just wondering thanx

i thought about it, but its just gonna start chipping, and the gas would eat through it in a heart beat (if spilled on the tank)
Im having mine painted by a buddy fo next to nothing, that the best thing to do.

spray cans just dont offer the durablility that your gonna need .

I don't know a lot about painting, but I do know that the longer you spend sanding, the better results you can expect. I agree that a rattle can is probably not the best way, but if you don't mind having to touch it up every year or so, go for it. You could also use a spray can now to try out a color, and then if you like it save up and get it painted professionally.
