Electric goodness.

Rider Testimonials

Apparently it gets 150 miles to a charge, which is only about 15 to 20 less than my 2002 SV650s. It also goes 150 mph, which is about 25 mph more than my SV goes now (stock engine & sprockets). Not bad. I just want to know how long a charge takes.

stats?
I'm blocked.

How long does a typical charge last?
Time? no idea. Supposedly 150 mile range.

Here's another video.

Looks like full Ohlins suspension and a tubular steel trelis frame in the slide show, but that might just be the prototype.

For those of you that missed the fact that I put the link on the picture: http://www.ridemission.com
Now if we could only have bikes that make 90* turns as fast as a light cycle
i'd ride one of those...
An article about this bike is on Wired.com. Apparently, it takes about 8 hours to charge on 120v.
Styling seems very reminiscent of the RC8, but it looks really nice. Seems strange to look at a bike with no exhaust though.

Edit: In profile only, from the front the look is pretty different. More pics:

For only $68,995, it's made by the same people involved with the Tesla Roadster, so it may be several years before anything will be actually sold.

In reality, and in all honesty, how many Triumph, Ducati or Harley enthusiast's are going to give up the sweet sound of a V-twin or the unmistakable rumble of an in-line triple? Not too many is my guess. Perhaps adding a noise track to the Mission One is the answer, maybe something from the Star Wars soundtrack produced over at Skywalker Ranch would be the way to go. This idea beats putting a playing card on the front forks with a clothes peg, to flick against the spokes, which is what we did as kids on our bicycles!

Yeah, it's expensive, but you have to start somewhere. Eventually this will be the norm, that is unless motorcycles get banned first.

I would ride this if I had one as it is. I will definitely get one if they make it without all the problems. Considering where we are with electric cars, I think the electric motorcyle is going to take off first.
I'd love to have an electric motorcycle! Only, right now the cost of one is about 10x more than I am ever willing to pay!

I want one but not for that much. I'd deffinatly ride it to feel like I'm helpin and to not pay for gas.

Right now, with not paying for gas, you'd be helping to burn more coal.
Its a step in the right direction, but for that price I'm buying something with 4 wheels and a big motor.
that's pricey... for 30k you can get a ttx01 (86hp / 170 ft-lbs).

has anyone seen any real performance data on this bike, i'm curious what it compares to.
150 miles...boo...the ride is just starting.
The TTX is nice because it actually LOOKS like a motorcycle. Anyone know the range on it? (the TTX01 vs. the Mission One)
