SVN, windscreen advice for 5'11"

I am looking for a winscreen that will deflect the air away from my head when traveling at highway speeds. With the bike using the stock small windscreen my head and neck take too much of a beating above 70mph. I'm 5'11 for reference, and am running the stock bars so I'm in a nice upright seating position. From what I gathered on the Givi screens the A750 hits the center of the head for somone 6'1, so that may be a possibility of deflecting the wind over my head or to the top.

Ive also been looking at the A660 that is 17" tall. But didn't find any review on it with the SV. After looking at the NAtional Cycle screens I noticed the tallest is 15"

What are some other screens that people my height have had success with deflecting the wind off the head/neck?

subscribed. i'm your size (5'10", but long torso) and also want to get a windscreen.

really curious how the A660 works, cause i much rather prefer the all-clear windscreens than ones with colored farings around them
I just ordered the a700. I'm about 5'9''. It hasn't arrived yet but I will post pics and a review when it gets here.
thanks kingnothing, look forward to your review. I'm with you Nox, I prefer the clear screens on the Naked SVs compared to the ones with a plastic fairing attached.
I'm 5'11 and have the A760 on my 02 naked. The wind really isn't the issue, it's the buffeting air coming off the screen that is really uncomfortable. I'll be taking the fairing off soon because it's extremely annoying.
I'm 6' and used a holeshot fly screen on my naked w/ stock bars for a 500 mile trip and had no issues with wind. Not sure why it's affecting you more.
The ZG Touring screen helps me at 6'4" way better than the stocky but a couple of inches more would not go astray either. I think any much higher and it would take away from the sport lines also. Going to try a Givi next after seeing pics on SVR and comments on the quality and thickness. And its only 20 odd bucks more than the ZG.
That one looks like it works well....but I have a naked model =)
My bad. Didnt notice you had a N :dontknow:
Man up and screw the windscreen idea! ;D
Quick update on my Givi A700: If you value your sanity, DON'T GET THIS SCREEN FOR YOUR BIKE....

I am determined to make it work on my bike but it will be more work than I imagined. Pics will follow when project is complete.
I just put on a F16 today. I'm very happy with the way it looks and it seems to perform decently. I only rode a few miles today, so I don't know anything definite yet. <$100 for the shield and the mounting kit.

Despite the snow fall here, I know spring is just around the corner and am still unclear on my windscreen choice. I briefly considered selling my SV and buying a Versys rather than converting my SV into more of a tourer, but I just love my SV too much to do it.

:)
I recently got a Puig screen off a fellow member and it works rather well. I am 6'1". I get a little wind but am able to tuck behind the screen when needed. I did see that there was another group but trying to get going.
The puig looks pretty awesome, can't wait to get one from the next group buy. still looking for more of a touring screen though for those longer trips.
Another update on the Givi. It looked fine on the bike. Kept the wind off my torso fine. Made the bike handle funny, especially in windy conditions. got taken off and listed on Craigslist today.
I am also 5'11" and I use the Givi A760 for winter commuting. It moves a lot of air, even deflecting most wind off the hands and shoulders. The airstream hits my faceshield - after some adjustments, the buffeting isn't quite as bad, but it is still quite noisy. Earplugs are a must. Next winter, I might trade it for a slightly shorter screen, such as the A770.

I just picked up an A750 on craigslist, which I plan to swap as spring weather returns...
Well, If anyone wants a Givi A700, send me a PM. $150 shipped.
This is quite discouraging...all of these shields appear to be a great solution yet this thread contains a few people trying them out, then opting to sell them after trying them.

I may try that massive National Cycle GT shield; it may not look as sharp but I would have to think that it does its job.

screens ARE tough to evaluate without just plunging in and going for it. i ride thru the winter and i wanted a bit better protection than the nose deflector on the naked gives, but i didn't want to try to turn my naked into a gold wing. i settled on a national cycle F-16 sport. so far, so good. sure does not keep the rain off, but i dress for that. the windblast at highway speeds (120-150kph) is and up in mid-chest, plus 'smoother', so easier on the body. looks good too, even on a naked.

but i also have another smaller Ermax screen which i will mount up for summer to try out.

so, you gotta think out what you want and need, then just try... and you CAN sell after...

btw, i see you are in my area. if you want to PM me sometime to take a look, it wouldn't be hard to meet up - share a look and go for a ride?

cheers,
