expanding rubber nut things

SV650 bar ends......
Stockers.....they screw into a nut welded into end of the clip on, OR, use one of those expanding rubber nut things??

I think the S model screw into the clip on. I know the nakeds have the expanding rubber thing.
In fact, when I think back, I'm 99.9% positive the "S" models have the screw.
I am guessing both use an M6 X 1.0 bolt. Can anyone confirm that, as well as the length of said bolt, if possible??
