I want to send out a huge thanks to Ron and jimdaddy.  I learned the hard way about my TO sensor.  I'm pretty excited with all the changes.  The SV1000 shock is definitly stiffer, and I can feel the dampening over the bumps.  The TRE mod is working - there is much less instant engine brake when I let off the gas.  It's much smoother.  As for extra power in each gear?  Don't really know yet, I'll keep working it.  I love the Watsen Design flush mounts - it was well worth the wait.  My new turning signals in the back are identical to sgf323's bike.  Big thanks.  I highly recommend following his instructions over here http://forum.svrider.com/index.php?topic=43574.0  Looks amazing.

Here are a few more pics - my battery box, and other misc pics.

Looks great!  Tell me more about the shock...you just put a SV1000 shock in your SV650?  Is it that much different?  How was the fit?  Did it require the same battery box cutting the gixxer shock does?  Were you able to fit your stock battery back in without issues?
Shock difference? Not a lot, but enough to know I changed it. I haven't tweaked the shock at all... haven't done a sag test or anything - just slapped her in ;) I talked to the previous owner and he was riding it stock on his SV1000. This will be a good upgrade until I can find a good GSXR or 636 shock to throw in there - then I'll notice even more difference.

The fit? If you look at picture mod590s.jpg - that's a top down shot of my battery box without the battery in it. I took out the tools and put foam in there, so that it would absorb some rattling and heat. I also had to raise the battery up about 3/4 an inch as you can see the shock reservoir poking into the battery area. You have to do the same job for an SV1000 shock as a Gixxer shock - so now that all the work is done. 3 bolts and it's gixxer time - when the time comes. To fit my battery back in, I had to shave off a foam part on the bottom of the seat. Then I pushed down on the seat, put the bolts in.. and bam, I'm ready to go.

Cool JC. Tell me, where you able to snap any pics during the tail light conversion process?
I'd especially like to see where you dremel-cut the light housing and the "trace" that needs to be cut.
Nah aceluck, I didn't have a change to take pics of the tail light conversion - I totally forgot. I know I was a bit confused by the instructions as well. As for cutting the trace - I just took a knife down the middle of the circuit board.. and cut into the metal so that it wasn't complete anymore. Once you cut that, and plug it back into the brakes - they both stop working. Then each LED has a + & - spot.. but only one of each is labelled.. so you have to find the other one. I just had the wires in my hands, turned the bike on - and started touching the metal spots until I found it. Remember, attached a 220 ohm resistor to the + before you start testing. It was easy after I found out which was which - just cut the cable, soldered them on. I drilled two holes on the back side of the light box for each set of wires. Oh, and I didn't have a dremel to cut the light open - instead I just took a good old metal hack saw. Did the job - took ages, but it worked.

Dood - clean that bike! Looks good though :)
Ahah, thanks man - I was supposed to clean it with a power washer yesterday - but it got dark, too late. After seeing yours, I didn't realize how dirty mine really was! I completly forgot that the sprocket was silver, not BLACK. Blasted chain lube I have is everyone on the bike... must not be good stuff. Motomaster Chain Lube from Canadian Tire.

The fit?  If you look at picture mod590s.jpg .....
oops, sorry. I looked at that pic, but I didnt look close enough. Yeah, I can see where you had to cut the box, the top of the shock is visible. Sorry, and thanks for the clarification.
To fit my battery back in, I had to shave off a foam part on the bottom of the seat. Then I pushed down on the seat, put the bolts in.. and bam, I'm ready to go.
Yeah...I think I remember seeing that little square of foam glued to the bottom of the seat pan that mashes on the battery. Cool beans, I always wondered if the stock battery would fit back down in there. Thanks for the info!

Now go enjoy those new mods!!!!!

now get those nasty warning stickers off there :p
That's another whole story.. tried for 15 minutes with a hair drier one day.. I can still feel the stickyness. I used Glue Gone and everything... I have a buddy who tells me he's got this stuff that will work. I'll try it soon.
