Quick question about the STOCK sv1000/sv1000S cans, my Dad has an 03N what other years models will fit his bike? He has a set of Yosh bolt ons that he wants to trade for some stock cans off of an 05 1000S. According to Suzuki they have different part numbers, my two concerns are the bolt pattern and the exhaust hanger tab that is welded to the pipe, I know the 03's had a different sub frame.

The bolts pattern for the pipe will be the same. The issue will/may be where the tab is. The 03, and years after, had different subframes. Nothing a little bracket fabbing could probably not overcome.

The 2003 SV1000S is the only SV1000 that you can't switch exhausts between the other years. The 2003 SV1000 naked has the same rear subframe as 2004 and on models. Therefore, 2004 thru 2007 SV1000S exhausts will fit the 2003 SV1000 naked.

I'm sure if you posted up that your dad wanted to trade for some stock exhausts, you'd get several people interested. If you don't get any hits here on SVR, join up over on the SV Portal at http://www.sv-portal.com/ and I know it would happen.

Good luck!

Just to chime in, I just put an exhaust from an 06 on my 03 and it fit fine...so, um, yeah. Well, it was just the header not the silencers so that may be the difference

EDIT: Forget what I just wrote, guess I need to read more thoroughly next time.

Man... I just threw out a set of stock 03N cans when I moved from RI (since your in ME). I would have given them to your Dad if I saw this a few months ago. I had also bought a set of 04N cans off eBay and yeah, the flanges fit without a problem, but the hangers didn't. I didn't bother cutting and moving the brackets tho... too much work for cheap stock parts.
