I just bout an sv1000s about two weeks ago and when i bought it and rode it home it would cut out around 6000 rpm i thought it may have something to do with the power commander so i downloaded a map on it (previously did not have one) it has gotten somewhat better but it still seems like its not getting enough fuel. Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!:)

First thing to check would be the fuel delivery. Do the 'fuel volume test' and see how much it delivers being that a clogged inlet screen is fairly common and also easy to fix.
Have a manual? If not: SV1000S 2003 Service Manual

I believe your fuel pump and filter need replacing. These tanks can rust, and sediment from fuel and the rust wear on the impeller in the pump causing fuel pressure/volume loss. there is a fuel filter mod, and new pumps aren’t outlandishly expensive unless you go OEM.
