What year is the bike? 30 amp main fuse by the starter relay box could be the issue.
Google search and some looking can work wonders though..

Welcome to SVR Lloyd. You've come to the right place for SV advice. I suggest you provide a little more background info. Year of bike? Has it ever run? If so, how did the issue show itself? Was the new battery charged before being installed? Etc.

As mentioned, check the main 30A fuse (Green) located at the starter relay. The main fuse is not in the fuse box with all the other fuses.

A failed ignition switch connector - aka, the dreaded green connector - can also cause this. It is more common on the sport SV650 with dual headlights but can happen to the naked bikes too.
