I was curious, do any of you have production numbers for the second gen SV's? specifically 03 models?

Wow, that's impressive. Wikipedia, the sv650.org, and motorcycle daily were the top results when I searched the first time.

Also, I misunderstood the question the first time. I thought you meant horsepower, torque, dry weight, and other things like that.

Your question is a bit tougher, and I'm not sure it's ever been answered:

I've looked all over the internet and cannot find anything relating to specific SV 650 Sales in USA (only overall motorcycle/atv sales figures in Suzuki's financial briefings)

I'm VERY interested to know how many SVs were made and if possible, broken down by year. Surely someone here has a connect at Suzuki and can provide these figures?

Still No go. come on people, someone's gotta know... were a million of these bikes made or only 10,000?

SVrider.com shows 50,965 members, but I can't believe they're all owners, and I can't believe all SV owners are members here. so the number could be somewhere between 50,000 and 250,000 SV motorcycles sold worldwide from 1999 to 2012.

Anyone else wanna take a crack at this? Who doesn't love a good mystery?

lol. you guys are funny. I"ve written to suzuki (two different departments) and got no answer. unless I know which number to call, how would I know that person is the right contact?

As for the answer in Japanese, go ahead and post it up. i'm sure we've got some experts here who can translate it. (or, we can just fake it?)

If those numbers are correct, Suzuki is making only 1/3 as many bikes as they were 7 years ago. Combined with the cessation of importing cars into North America, things look grim for Suzuki's future.

I have noticed that there are VERY few 2014 Suzuki models in the dealerships here this year (mostly just the new model DL1000).

Edit : I checked the numbers for the other manufacturers. They have all reduced production to less than half of what was manufactured in 2007. Suzuki's production fall is about average for the big 4.
