Call me ignorant, but it's the first time I hear about those two companies.

Both have made exhausts for the SV. (Although I doubt that cornering the crappy Sv slip on market was the sole motivation for the acquisition.)

Jardine has always been pretty big in the cruiser world. Supertrapp makes all kinds of exhaust systems. I have a multi-disc supertrapp on my lawnmower. Same principle as their auto/cycle designs just a smaller application.

That's pretty cool. I always assumed SuperTrapp was a small company even though they had been around for awhile; at least smaller than Jardine. Hope it works out for both companies and employees, not to mention us!

The discs (oppose to just different diameter outles) are intended to create expansion chambers to promote exhaust scavenging. Back in the day they used to tote scavenging as one of their main advantages (maybe they still do, haven't seen a Supertrapp ad in a while). Most people just scratched their heads and then said "cool I can make it LOUDER or QUIETER??" or "but WHERE'S THE HOLE?"
