Super Top Case Deal!!!!!

I know this is old news, almost 2 years to be exact, but it STILL works. Another member mentioned it in another thread and I couldn't resist but to make it known to everyone!

This is basically a cheat to get the JCwhitney site to ring up a top case for $48!

Follow these steps to get it for 47.99:

1) Search Item # ZX277022

2) In the web address box, add an "E" after the ZX at the end of the address. Hit Enter.

3) Add to cart.

4) Apply promo card sawbax9 to order.

5) Add small item to make total over $50

6) Checkout. At step 4 of 4 in checkout, your total will drop.

These are the EXACT steps I followed to make my purchase.

The trick is the "E" in the model number. Somehow, the E added to the third space in the model number tells the site it is on special when added to the cart! The actual model number does not have an "E" in it!

Note, this only works for the large case.

Also, I tossed grips and a tank pad into my cart and used the promo code below to get free shipping. My total for a tank pad, progrip 699 black grips and the Large top case was $75 and some change! ;D I just did it today.

Oh well, doesn't matter. I can't get the deal to come up. I even tried chatting with one of the advisors to see if they could pull up the part number with the E. She said no such part number exists. No soup for me.

I got one of these with this same deal about a year ago. I later sold it and got a Givi top case though. My Givi is higher quality and has a nifty integrated brake light

Comparing the JCW and a Givi box, is the Givi worth the extra $100+??

I am looking to buy a case, but I don't want to spend $200+ on a Givi box if I can get something that gets the job done for way less money.

Any thoughts?

The actual part number does not have an "E" in it and of course she isn't going to give you a discount just because you think there is one there! lol.

I updated the steps in the original post and it definitely works if you follow those directions. I just tried it.

Followed your new instructions and it still didn't work for me.

Are you logged on to your account on JCWhitney or are you just signed in as a new customer?

I opted out of an account so I don't have one. I even cleared my cache and cookies before trying again just now and it still works. I don't know what to say.

Hit up the advrider link I posted and listen to some of their "troubleshooting" tips. A lot of those guys had problems at first and eventually got it to work.

I just bought one, there is a trick to it, you have to search for the item number in the spot I squared of in the pic, then once it comes up put the e in where I point the arrow too.

Be sure the item in your cart has the "E" in it! The model number is still the original number but the "E" needs to be shown in your cart before proceeding.

I can't wait to get this thing!

After all my discounts from newenough and here, I have spent under $160 for CL950 saddle bags, this top case and a CL-50 magnetic tank bag. I'm shooting for under $200 out the door after I fab up a mount for the case. I'll probably attach it to a seat for now so I can start using it immediately for school.

His screen shots summarize it perfectly. If you get the E in your model number, it WILL work. You HAVE to make it to step four for the discount to appear.

Yes, now I see. Must make to step four. I just have to figure out if I need/want now that I can get cheaply -- must decide.

There are even tons of free shipping codes online. Search google. Throw in some new grips or a tank pad and barely break the $50 price tag!
