(Referring to the entire loop, not just the nibs)

I'm trying to find cheap or free things to do to my bike over the winter. The bungee/tiedown hoops have always bothered me appearance-wise. Anyone cut those off and regret it later?

I've never used them, but will I need them if I later get a tail pack or saddle bags later on?

Also, if I do cut them, will there be holes left behind in the subframe? Should they be filled?

i chopped mine off. There were no holes, b/c the round bar is hollow. Cut if off a little above te subframe and grind the rest down. I have a clean straight subframe now. I love it :great:

No filling - that's great to hear. Maybe I'll start on it over the weekend. I'd like to do a custom aluminum undertail as FilthyRich did - that looked real nice. I'm going for a clean and minimalist look. Heck, I got 4 or 5 months to do it.
