So I have a 2003 SV650 frame and motor currently sitting in my garage and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm thinking of making a custom bike out of it. I was wondering if there where any subframes (aside from the SV's of course) that would fit it with out having to do an insane amount of modifications on it.

Could any year GSXR fit it? But, I'd really like to stick a Yamaha R1 subframe and tail or maybe a Ducati rear end on it.

If anyone has messed around with this idea please let me know. I'm sure some modification work is necessary. I just don't want to spend days trying to figure out a way to make it work because I could easily find a decent OEM replacement on Ebay.

Just an idea, but I think it would look pretty sweet.

If you don't want to spend much time to mod a other subframe to fit just get the oem subframe.

I think there are no other subframes from other bikes that are easy to mod/fit.

I have a perfect 04 subframe, including the mounting bolts that will fit.

There is also a kit for a MV tail I have seen, might be made by Gimbel (DE). It may come with a subframe, it is quite pricey IIRC.

I remember seeing a guy with a MV tail many years ago, but I thought it was all custom. It looked realllllly nice.

The one I am referencing is sans undertail exhaust IIRC, Chris' I believe was all custom fabbed not bolt on.

There was a German guy with a SV1K that had posted pictures here last year.
