Is the the answer the the question no one has asked? :p

I think everyone who has a S/O has ran their bike w/o a muffler. I actually have a slash cut pipe from Advance Auto Parts.

It makes babies cry, sets off car alarms.... and no one wants to ride behind me when I have it installed...

So... I'll stick with my Shorty Scorpion. :-D

Dude if you already have a S/O just take it off and leave the midpipe.

Anecdote: I was riding with my friend down the road with him following, I drop down to 2nd to hit 7k rpm and accelerate to pass a F150 pickup truck with his windows down. As I fly past, the driver takes both hands off the steering wheel, and covers his ears.

Oh yea, when you downshift and engine break.... it sounds even cooler. But it is loud even with earplugs and a helmet on.

this is only temporary till i can afford a m4 gp style or a shorty supertrapp. i like the sound under certain conditions(engine braking, maintenance throttle, acceleration at certain rpm)
but other times it does not sound right.

only temporary.

my cybershot has crappy sound. it sounds better in person
I agree it's not that bad of a sound. I ran mine a little bit with an open exhaust after I cut it for a slip-on. I knew it was too loud and would get obnoxious eventually, but I still liked the sound it made.

Don't understand why you did this? The bike isn't getting correct fuel mixture and will make less power...and you won't be able to hear yourself think. A moped will sound like that if you take the muffler off. Loud isn't fast.
