I recently bought a trailtech vapour gauge for my 2002 650S-N conversion but the supplied speedo sensor/bolt is the wrong size. I know I can glue the Magnet straight to my brake rotor, but that's irritatingly ghetto for my tastes.

Has anyone tried wiring the stock speedometer sensor into the vapour gauge? or any other aftermarket gauge for that matter?

Keep it simple. Just epoxy a magnet in one of the rotor button recesses. I think the magnet I used was from a pack I bough from Harbor Freight. Then position the pickup in line with the magnet arc.

My setup is probably different than yours, but the principle is the same.

I know how to wire everything up, I was just hoping to use the stock speedo sensor. glueing the magnet into the rotor button looks more secure than on a flat surface. If I can't wire up the stock sensor I'll go with that solution.

Little off topic, but did you manage to get your low fuel light to blink like its supposed to when fuel level gets low?

Mine only goes solid, so there ends up being no difference in indication between upper and lower level indications.

I got the additional lights w/holder from Vapor (2 ea side) and connected them per a schematic that DEcosse designed for my SV1K. I have turn signal, hi beam, fuel, and oil pressure. My neutral light is via a TRE with a gear indicator, thus that circuit does not go to the Vapor array.

The fuel light is connected to the "Low Fuel" R/B wire and does not flash. I believe the "Very Low Fuel Flash" came off the B/Lg wire to the gauge which generates the flash.

In my installation, a reed relay receives the relatively low voltage from the fuel sensor (thermistor) and then switches on full power to the light.

And, while talking lights, the LEDs supplied by Vapor were still not bright enough to my liking so I swapped them out with brighter ones from http://www.superbrightleds.com/

I do not know if any of this is applicable to the 650. Hopefully, DEcosse reads this and corrects any mistakes. :)

Yeah, that's pretty much the diagram I used to connect my stuff but I had some differences I think and I was being a dumb and left out the relay. That's what im guessing was removed when removing the stock cluster.

And btw, I spoke with Trailtech about the icons on the dashboard and they said they were made too dark by their manufacturer and they haven't received any lighter ones yet cuz they ain't out of the old stock yet. So I tried a 1.5W led bulb from v-LEDs and it really doesn't help much if at all. I thought about maybe taking a dremel with a spherical burr to the inside if the icons to remove some of the opacity. Maybe another day though.

^Forgot to mention that my tracker has no key. The guy who had it before rigged it up with a switch for the ignition.

I have the speedo working since it was already setup for a Vapor gauge before.

I tried to hook up the power for all the idiot lights to both sides of the switch when closed and would not work.

When I hooked up the neutral idiot light to the one side of the switch when it was open it did light up but that means it would be on all the time.
