I have it at about four and a half inches. on my '14 Glad. Do you need it more accurate than that?Anyone know the length of the stock dog bones, eye to eye? Bike is 2013 Gladius
Not sure yet. The bike came with some aftermarket adjustable dog bones from the PO, and I wasn't sure if at their shortest setting (120mm) they were stock. Couldn't find info anywhere on the internet or FB about the Gladius, and the dealer was closed this weekend.Assuming the Gladius dog bones are the same as the Gen 3 (someone correct me if I'm wrong) then your looking at 114mm between hole centers. I'll let you convert that to old speak (imperial measurement) if need be.
Are you wanting to lower your seat height or such like?
No, that's perfect man. Thanks!I have it at about four and a half inches. on my '14 Glad. Do you need it more accurate than that?
6mm (114 vs 120) is quite a big diff in bone length. I tried some shorter ones (or longer? cant remember which way it works) on my race bike and it jacked the arse up too much, increased the steering rake and made the bike too twitchy. Felt like it wanted to tuck the front going into slow corners. Yep that 1/2" extra length on the shock will definitely raise the seat height, probably too much but keep us posted. Not sure yet. I'm installing a ZX14 rear shock and didn't want to re-install the dogbones if they weren't stock. I assumed the dog bones were stock when I first bought the bike because the ride height was exactly at spec with them on at the shortest setting.
Going to end up installing them and testing it out and going from there. Maybe the ZX14 shock will raise the seat some, being that the shock is about 1/2" longer than the oem one...
Will do, I think it will have to be 120mm at minimum now. With the 1/2" longer ZX14 shock I'm putting in, the 120mm is right about where a 115mm would be with the oem shock. I'll check back in a weeks or so, when it's on the road.6mm (114 vs 120) is quite a big diff in bone length.
