On the 2nd gen SVS stock clip-ons there's a notch underneath that goes into the top triple clamp.

On other model bikes, ive grinded this notch off so i could pivot the clip ons inward more to adjust handling, and they stayed in place. Aftermarket clipons do not have this notch, but are secured with 2 (smaller) clamping bolts instead of 1.

Has anyone ever taken these notches off of the stock sv clipons before? and did they stay in place?

i lowered the stock clip ons on my 07 so the notch is below the triple and i can rotate them. they stay in place unless you drop it, in which case you might need to readjust them.

I took the pins off my GSXr clip ons so I could straighten them out more. It relieved the discomfort in my left wrist from being bent so much. (I broke it years ago) :vroom:

No problems with them staying in place.
