tovar, "no" you don't know, or "no" they are not compatible?

this question is exactly what I came here to get answered.

essentially, i replaced my 1G stator with a 2G, but the wiring was not long enough. so, i just spliced in the longer wires from the 1G. now the bike is acting up. backfiring, front cylinder not firing, etc.

please help!

you have to keep the stator/rotor the same gen as the bike. I have a gen1 bike and a gen2 motor, so I had to swap my gen1 rotor/stator and cover to the gen2 motor. Along with some other things.

second question, are all the 2nd gen stators the same? Looks like I'm replacing stators on both bikes, and I'm looking at an 08 for an 04.

I need the stator on the second gen. My Crankshaft sensor is inop, and it's part of the stator assembly.
