I recently bought a true 2003 SV650R with not speed indication so I bought a speedo sensor upgrade kit from Acumen Electronics paid for it to be installed because I have no tools with me at the moment. Problem is calibrating it. At about 70 mph it say I am going 125mph. It senses magnent installed on the front caliper.

From what I read, the more magnents the better but I am thinking that if I remove half of the magnents (and keep them evenly spaced) it will read for correct. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

For your 2003 SV, 4 magnets will match stock.

Stock MPH reads 7 to 9% high.

Thanks. I was think about taking a few out do to it reading about double my speed but it recommends more magnents for more accuracy. I'll give it a shot. Maybe taking out 3 is just what it needs.

Wow. Didn't realize I just reported half of what was in my first post. Guess that's what happens at 3AM

More magnets would increase accuracy if the input polling rate was adjustable on the speedo. But since it's stuck at 4 / revolution, we've just got to work with what we've got.
