hello all! i will be taking and posting some pics of my upgrades as parts start to come in. as of right now i am just upgrading the forks with new sonic springs, and by the way rich is very great to deal with, seals, and new thicker oil. then installing a 636 shock out back with 1" raising dogbones. a set of 1' up and back rearset plates. desnorkle the air filter and rejet. and if my funds will cooperate with me some new paint on the tank and plastics, either a flat black or a house of colors copper. the copper pops so much in the sunlight its badass imo. looks like a brand new super shinny penny. oh and its a 2001 naked model.

I forgot i even started this thread. after i posted this i rebuilt the stock fork with fresh 20wt oil, sonic springs, new seals, and a set of emulators. I installed a 636 shock and made some dogbones to raise the rear of the bike a little over an inch. that was all i pretty much did and rode all year with her looking like this

Then over this last winter the gsxr upgrade bug got ahold of me and i started collecting parts.
small, poor quality pic. but the list is 2006 gsxr 750 forks, front fender, buell m2 flyscreen, and all the odds and ends such as clip on's, m/c, clutch perch...etc.

and soome adjustable rearset plates rattle canned satin black.

i tore the front end off and installed the gsxr front end with a T.W.F top bearing. The swap is WELL documented and i ran into no snags so i wont bore you with the details but here are a few pics of the "during"

I planned on running the Yamaha calipers but decided to use stock gsxr calipers,for now. Since i was doing this swap on a VERY limited budget and while laid off from work i had to go for the cheap ride it moto shorty levers and some knock off bar end mirrors from egay, that were right around ten bucks shipped from chinaland. The only snag i did run into was the locator holes in the gsxr clipons were in the wrong spot and 180 degrees off from the locator pins in my stock switch housings. I am not sure if my fix is the right way to do it but i merely used the stock holes ion the clip ons and drilled the correct size hole through to the other side. then my swith housings went on in the right location. i buttoned up the front end and used the hose clamps from silicone intakes, i believe is the name of the place, and used my stock headlight mounting brackets. bled the brakes and started to ride.and here are some finished pics both with and without the front fender, i wanted to see what it would look like without it but decided it looked MUCH better with!

Then i noticed that my chain had some VERY tight links, due to poor chain maint on my behalf. I knew i had two brand new chains in my tool box so i went to install a new chain and somehow i had two brand new 520 chains, i have never owned a bike that took a 520 chain. so since i had two chains i just ordered new 520 sprockets, i went with a vortex 14t front and a driven lightweight 47t steel rear. i know thats a big jump and the gearing i was running was 15/47 but i rarely get on the interstate so i thought i would give it a try, and i love it. i would NOT rec'd that gear for highway use though.

after some seat time and adjusting the suspension i am in love with the new setup! i have some versah, not sure on spelling, and some tech spec on the way then all thats left for this year will be some moto sliders. some of you may have seen the way the front fender was sanded down to primer and bare plastic and that was intentional. when i got the fender it had some nasty blue spray paint on it so i started to sand it to spray some black on it, but after geeting through the rattle can blue i realized the blue underneath was almost a perfect color match! but i had already sanded through to primer and plastic, but, it gave it a rashed look that i like right now.

so this is how she will look for this and prob next riding season before her MAJOR teardown when everything that is silver will become a mix of satin and gloss black powdercoat, and the blue will become snakeskin green, at least thats what i am thinking right now. oh i almost forgot that i plan on a gsxr rear wheel to match the front A.S.AP!
