I picked up a low mileage '08 gsxr600 fork that I plan to put in my '17. The gsxr shock spring is stiffer than the sv spring, and I only weigh 170 and use the SV in the canyons and on my short commute (no track use). Should I transplant the SV spring, which gets my desired preload in the middle of the range, onto the gsxr shock? Is the gsxr spring rate close enough to not be a problem? Are the guys at Race Tech smoking crack? Here are the spring numbers:
SV gen 3 - '08 gsxr600 - Race Tech Rec - Computrack Boston
8.6 kg/mm - 9.1 kg/mm - 7.6 kg/mm (seems light) - 9.2 to 9.7 kg/mm.
