i dont have the third gen but cant you just put it into dealer mode to read codes by jumping the wire like on a 2nd gen?

interesting idea, not sure how to do that but looking forward to more replies to try that out. I saw a dealer mode switch available online but not clear on difference w sds tool

it's just a jumper on 2nd gens. i have no idea on 3rd gens.
