Stupidly I bought a set of saddle bags before trying them on my SV 650. No matter how I adjust it, one of them slightly touches the exhaust with items in the bag. Would it be possible to put something underneath the bag to keep it from melting? I was thinking gluing a piece of ceramic plate.

Has anybody dealt with this before?

A buddy of mine bought a "welding pad".....heat proof material that is used to protect things you don't want to get f*cked up when you weld near them! Can be found at welding shops. He "glued" his to the bottom of his bag with high temp silicone.

Thanks for the tip. I'm sure that'll work.
