Hey guys,
When I put my bike away I never filled up the tank. I put stabil in what was left and left it in my aunts basement which stays about 65 degrees. I then brought the tank to my house where it was in the 60's as well. I started to take things apart so I could have them painted and when I took the pet cock of the bottom of the tank and drained what was left of the fuel it came out a brown. Didnt have any trace from rust particles that I could see but it still was brown. Again I put stabil in it and that brown. Just wannamake sure I didnt rust my tank. any ideas?

I'd wash it out with some degreaser. If you want to be thorough you could drop a piece of chain in the tank (smaller size chain about 3' or longer is best) and shake that around with the degreaser to break the rust up.

If you're really converned about it you should get a POR-15 or Kreem kit, then it will never rust again.
