Any ideas for removal? :D

I tried some of the magical spray stuff that is supposed to loosen them, but they just spin more easily, the threads have to be gone. Grind off the head of the bolt? The bolts in question secure a camper top to a pickup bed.

Thanks for your thoughts.

it would be helpful to me if you posted a pic of the bolt.

are you trying to save the bolt? is it stripped? is the head rounded off?

chances are, there is a tool available at your local sears or other hardware/auto store. ez-outs, bolt-outs, bolt extractors, etc.

For that application, I'd probably just grind 'em and then get new bolts. Probably the quickest way (if you have an appropriate grinder, that is).

I couldn't care less about the bolt. The head isn't rounded, but the threads are surely stripped. It's kind of close quarters for the grinder but I'm thinking that might be my only option.

I'll add a pic later.

That's what happened to my sprocket nuts and bolts. A nut splitter will crack the nut off the bolt.

I went ahead and grinded all the heads off. Was a bit of a pain.

What is this nut splitter you speak of?
