Retro and Functional Headlight Fairing

I got a little tired of the wind kind of beating me up. None of the options available for my 2023 model appealed to me. So I opted to go my own route and install a headlight fairing. Went with the Maier GP Sport Fairing. It helped tremendously smoothing out the air. Holding 80 90 mph which here in some highways in California is keeping up with traffic is a breeze. Also, I'm a huge '80s fan so this is perfect for me.

That's one of the better looking naked faring setups. Reminds me of the 80s Z1. Nice work Blue. Love the first pic with the air-cooled 911 passing by in the background.

Looks good.
Bikes are better now than in the 80's though.
Although I did have a lot of fun and got 86,000 miles out of that 1985 Yamaha Maxim 700. :)

Yup alooot better ha
how did you match the paint?
There is a special camera that matches the paint to either a formula already made or it creates one. One of the perks of having a family body shop. The code doesn't pop up yet, maybe because of the year of the bike.

How did you mount this? Did you have to remove anything or fabricate something?

Also interested in how to mount. This is cheaper than the puig and I think looks better.

Why did you go with this over the puig?

Seemingly you answered your own question. I love the looks of Blue's faring. Links please Blue!

Neverminded. Sergey Brin hit me up.
Maier Sport Fairing
How did you mount it? I read it doesn't have hardware and needs brackets made?
I like it. I may have to run this front.

The circular headlight gets a bit boring over time. Gen 1, 2, 3 its the same headlight. Round and chrome..

Maybe it’s just me, but a headlight is supposed to light the road ahead of you up at night. Can’t say I’ve ever found one to be exciting or boring. Just functional.

I found that the sv headlight doesn't do that too well lol.

This one is surprisingly bright even with the halogen. Once this burns up I will install led and it should be even better.

A 1986 to 88 GSXR front fairing is a good change in my opinion. Also now there is a kit to convert the front to a new katana headlight and fairing. Very retro looking. Another reason I chose this over a super sport. The customizability is very broad.

Mine came with hardware. Il take some pics later on it. The kit came with mountain hardware and a sponge strip that I am not sure where it goes to hr honest. So far no issues. I didn't have to make any major modifications that I could think of right now. I have clip ons installed so my set up is different than stock.
