Hello!

I just bought a used 2008 SV650. The previous owner replaced the original rear turn signal assembly. A cop just informed me that it isn't street legal. :(

I have the original in a box. But I can't figure out how to get the darn thing on. I've removed a bunch of pieces but no luck so far. I'm stuck trying to loosen or remove the big black plastic piece above the rear tire so that I can bolt on the assembly.

I'll be grateful for any advice!

Thanks,
Allen

You need to remove the entire rear tail and loosen the bolts that hold the inner fender on so that you can install the stock fender/taillight/license plate assy. The whole thing bolts on up underneath the inner fender.

Thank you, everyone for your great help.

I actually managed to get it done--even without the beer!

I wasn't able to "tuck" the under tray (or is it called "splash tray"?) into the notch in the fender. (I suspect that's just a matter of gentle brute force, but I was scared I might bend it too hard.) But I suspect that the assembly will work without that final nicety.

I'm new to this forum and am really impressed at the helpful community!

Best regards,
Allen
