hi guys im new, its ok, i introduced myself in the other place so i can post here :p.

so back to the post...

so i dont like the look of that handle, so i decided to remove it and noticed 1 flaw, it locks the rear seat on. now ive done searches but i dont even know what to search for, i cant find any type of place holder for it so that the rear seat can lock. anyone have a website or something that sells them? or is cutting it the only answer?

i kind of want to keep the rear seat on, make for a better platform for my gearbag and if someone (girl) needs or wants a ride i can give it to them. if your saying just buy the seat cowl replacement, it sounds like a waste if im not going to use the actual cowl.

Yeah, search on eBay for the handle. You can buy one there pretty cheap. BUT if you aren't too concerned with money or don't want to cut anything, just go to the dealership and buy the seat cowl and use the bracket from that.

At first you are going to want to keep that seat, but eventually most people take it off, unless you are a passenger carrying type person.

i figure its going to be a better surface for carrying some of the gear that i carry, rather put my parachute (in a bag) on a seat then on a hard cowl. just seems like a better idea to me right now. i think i may just cut my own handle, im not to worried about it b/c it looks like replacement ones go for pretty cheap on ebay if i ever decide to put it back on there.

thats weird about it being required for a passenger, i will check, mine will stay on there without it but the back of it lifts right up and anything in there can be taken, im sure its not good on the mechanism either. there is a little piece that the seat seeds into to make a good connection and keep it down.

I lost my cowl cowl, one day. I was riding back from drill and my buddy pulled up along side me and pointed to the rear. I turned around and it was gone. Kinda ticked me off. I back tracked, but couldn't find it. He didn't see it fly off. Not sure how it woulda happened...

I have the cowl from Suzuki, and even without the grab bar, you can swap it for the passenger seat anytime
