Are there any kits out there that delete the passenger grab bar but keep the seat?

You would need the rear cowl fillers and bracket. It's been discontinued for a while and hard to find, though sometimes they show up in the classifieds on here.

on my old sv, i cut off the actual handle part, just leaving the bottom plate with the bolt holes and the notch that the seat slides into. then sanded down the edges and painted it.

on my new sv, i took off the whole grab handle and just wrapped some thick wire between the two mounting bolts, leaving just enough slack for the seat nub-thing to slide into.

both solutions leave a small gap where the grab bar was, but i still think it looks better than the bar itself.

Any chance you still have this file? I bought a blue 2008 SV650 two weeks ago without the grab bar. On a trip today with a passenger I noticed the seat wiggles around without something to hold it there! I think under weight its sort of stable but I just don't like the idea of it sliding around/potentially breaking one of the metal posts.

3D-printed file would be great. Anyone with skill/time could perhaps create a part that fills up the two holes as well? I'm a bit worried about water coming in these holes. Also, looks.

I have a set of original hole fillers. If I get a chance here soon I will model them, and even possibly print some out for those who can't.

I have no problem sharing the model once I've made it. It's just a matter of me taking them off my SV first. That's the hardest part. :lmao:

Are you going to model it in solidworks? I've tried, and I can get the overall shape, bu I can't get the loft to curve like the actual infill, the part at the top of the ramp.

I'm anxiously awaiting your model! I tried too, and I can't figure out the 90* curve at the top of the loft(the ramp on the part).

Update! Models are made. I'm going to 3D print a set and make sure they compare to the real thing. After that I'll host the files for whoever needs them. I could even probably print a few sets for whoever needs them.
