I adjusted my chain yesterday as the dealer set it at 1/2" slack. I set it to 1 1/4" .

Anyway, obviously the shop manual is wrong where it says to torque the castle axle nut to 750 ft. lbs. I went with 75 ft. lbs. since that matched the metric measure.

In doing so I noticed that this was much tighter than the PO had it and also much tighter than the shop had it. I would have been fine with that, but it also meant that the nut is threaded down past the cotter pin hole. Not far past mind, but still...

Is this normal? I hope this makes sense.

Oh also I checked and the wheel spins freely as normal. Just don't want to crush anything on this long trip.

Thanks!
