Questions about clip ons

795 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  SV Racing Parts
I have a 2008 sv650sf. And I bought a used 2nd gen aftermarket fairing set (poly26-SVXR), and the person I bought it from said that there was a clearance issue with the stock clip ons, and that it would be solved if I got a set of aftermarket clip ons. So my question is what brand would be better to purchase for this reason? Vortex, Woodcraft? Is there a difference in the angle between the two? I don’t race my bike… yet. So for now I only use it on the street, so full range handle bar motion is important. Thanks.

I personally like the Woodcraft since they are a 2 piece design. If you damage one, you don't have to remove the forks or top triple to replace it.

I've had to remove my top triple a few times because of single piece clip ons like Vortex.
:) If you have an issuer with the fairing, it sounds like you need to go up a bit to clear the fairing, is this the problem you are having?

If so either the Woodcraft with the risers, or the SWATT with the risers will work and both use the two piece clamp, so they are easy to install,

I have carry both brands in stock, and can help you out right away,

If you have a photo you can email to me at [email protected] I will be able to give you a good idea what you need to clear the issue up.

Enjoy the ride, and best regards,

:) With the risers is 100% safe but by the looks of the fairing in your photos, I would go with the no rise,

Email me back at [email protected] with your location, I am an authorized Woodcraft Dealer, and I will email you back the pricing,

You will be a happy guy,

Enjoy the ride, and best regards,
