I'm happy but always have that sick feeling that I just spent money. This makes 3 bikes so it's gonna catch me heat. But I think I did ok.

It's a 2003 with 27k. It has a pc3 usb, a full m4 exhaust but the m4 can has been swapped to a scorpion , a shift kit, new 525 sprocket and chain, the exhaust is wrapped and sealed, has braided lines, a gsxr 1000 shock, emulators and I'm a "stought" so the .85 springs in there might need to be swapped for .95's, a color matched seat cover and chin spoiler, a steering damper, a Corbin seat and a bunch of odds and ends. I got it for just under $2500. It's very clean and the tires are very good too. There was a detailed list of all the mods and when they went on. The dealer did most of the work. There's even stuff like an r6 throttle tube and sv1000 intake which I'm not sure how useful those things are.

So what should I do with it before I start riding it. It's been ridden lightly in the last few years. Little bit this year. I'm thinking good bath, oil, air and oil filters, plugs, coolant change and some shots of wd-40 on nuts and both, check chain and tires and good to go. I know there's a bunch of knowledge here. Is there any obscure stuff I should check. Should I look to sync the throttle bodies. I have a twin cylinder sync tool for my bmw boxer motor.

Later on I'll put some new springs in the forks and oil and mess with those emulators. And on and on. Seems like a really cool bike though. I thought about an fz-07 but for the money I think this might be better. There's so much you can do to them and I do like modding stuff.

Consider the Throttle Position Sensor fix - it's a freebie you do yourself. Instructions here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=55459

Also check the tire age - even if they have lots of tread, if they're more than a few years old it might be a good idea to replace them. Otherwise it looks like you got yourself a real nice bike. Enjoy and ride safe!

change out the brake fluid and the lines too if they are the old rubber OEM lines. If there is no history of the calipers being serviced, this would be a good time to take them apart and do a thorough cleaning. Possibly buy a new set of seals in case the current ones are damaged or get damaged while taking them out.
