So I just bought a 2000 SV650 a few weeks ago and recently took it out at night. The guy I bought it from suggested to replace the headlight and after I saw how the road wasn't too lit I looked into how to replace it. Bought a bulb (Sylvania Silverstar H4) and went to install it.

Here's where I ran into an issue. As I was taking the headlight out, it seemed to be stuck on something and could not pull out far at all after unscrewing the black screws. I read that the black square connector could be on tight so I pulled on it a little, not seeing any wires holding it in. It then came out pretty easily.

I then realized that I pulled two wires out of the bulb in the headlight. After looking some more, I noticed that the bulb in the headlight wasn't even the same as I saw online, and none of the connectors looked the same either.

Here is a link to an album of the wires, etc.

Could anyone please help me figure out where to go from here. I don't want to use the bike until I have a new light put in, and I haven't seen anything with this type of connector online. I assume that I just would buy a new bulb with those connectors, but don't know where to look.

Thanks!

Also I looked at the wires more, and one of the wires has a tag that says "Vision" on one side and "4300k" on the other side. Can't seem to find that exact bulb with the wires online though.

Any suggestion to similar looking ones to buy, and would I have any issues with the types of wiring harnesses that are on the bike now?

Your OEM H4 bulb has been replaced with a HID bulb. From the pic, it looks like one of the Chinese bulbs as gikxer said.
If you follow the wires out the back of the headlight housing, you should find a ballast box/ignitor for the HID bulb.
Check here to see a parts diagram for your headlight - http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/mode...650/assemblies/127416-headlamp-sv650x-y-k1-k2
Gen2 bikes use a spring to hold the H4 bulb in place against the reflector base, but according to the parts diagram, your Gen1 evidently uses the rubber boot to hold the bulb in place.
So, if you want to switch back to the H4 bulb, just disconnect the ballast and associated wiring and remove the metal plate that adapts the reflector's H4 opening to accept the HID bulb. Once you have disconnected the HID wiring, just connect the black connector in the headlight housing to your new H4 bulb and hopefully, everything will work.
If you are missing any parts shown in the parts diagram, it will probably be easier to buy a replacement headlight. Delkevic (http://www.delkevic.us/) makes one which may fit for about $60 - contact them to be sure it will fit.
If you want to replace the HID bulb, try searching eBay or Google for a pic of the bubl to figure out which HID bulb you need. You might also try contacting the guy you bought the bike from to see if he remembers who he bought the bulb from. I can't tell from the pics, but fellow SVR member BoRkA might sell a similar bulb. Check http://bkmoto.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=72_78&product_id=79
Generally, using an HID bulb in a reflector meant for an H4 bulb can produce excessive glare, possibly blinding oncoming drivers. If the light you have now is a cheap Chinese HID setup, it may not be providing that much light anyway. BoRkA offers several HID lights to fit your SV or just switch back to an H4 bulb if you have all the parts.
Good Luck.
