Re: Plug and Play Smart (aTRE) for '03-'06 SV650

What exactly is this about? aTRE?
jay313 said it pretty good:
Spacecoast: ATRE is Automatic Timing Retard Eliminator (or close to that). Someone more knowledgeable correct me if I get this wrong, but it is my understanding that bikes have timing retard built into some (if not all) gears in order to pass Federal emissions regulations. The ATRE gets rid of this, which results in better throttle response and performance.

I looked at the gear indicator/aTRE sold by the speedohealer folks, but balked at the $140 price. Interested to hear whether there is a noticeable affect on performance. I've seen one review that claimed the difference was easily felt on I-4's, but not so much on a V-Strom, which (as we know) is the same engine as the SV. So, curious to hear from someone with ATRE whether it actually works on the SV or not.

But if you want more info search the forum for "TRE" or check out the thread that got me started http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=82497

Re: Plug and Play Smart (aTRE) for '03-'06 SV650

+1 for the next batch, and a ghetto subscribe
Sweet. I'll be waiting for the next batch. :)
I am requesting that anyone and everyone that wants me to build them a TRE send me a PM with your email address and the number of units you want so that I can send you a PayPal invoice for payment.

I am taking note of the forum IDs of those people that say they want to be considered for the next batch but you aren't in line until you PM me your email address and I send you a PayPal invoice and you pay for your TRE. To make this a fair and efficient process and to avoid getting to far in over my head on this venture I am ordering the most expensive component of this build, the factory plug sets, in lots of 5 plugs and those who have already paid or pre-pay for the next batch will get first delivery.

I am trying to reduce delays as much as possible by building the TRE units beforehand while I wait for the plugs to arrive so as soon as the next batch of plug sets come in I can crimp them up and ship the units out to paid buyers. The next batch of 5 plugs is set to arrive in few days.

Thanks!

Re: Plug and Play Smart (aTRE) for '03-'06 SV650

UPDATE:

Just wanted to let everyone know the 1st batch of TREs has shipped and should be received today or tomorrow. 2nd batch of plugs is on the way, the finished TREs should ship out early next week and the 3rd batch of plugs is on order. 3rd batch TRE expected completion and delivery by the end of next week.

I plan to build these as long as necessary so keep the orders coming, remember if you are interested in buying a TRE please PM me with your preferred PayPal email address and the number of units you want so I can send you an invoice.

Thanks!

Re: Plug and Play Smart (aTRE) for '03-'06 SV650

Got it yesterday and it is installed works great, at night the N light is hardly visible.
Awesome! Thanks for the report. Also please let us know, as SV650Naked inquired, if you did in fact install it on an 2008 model so I can expand the application offering.

Has anyone installed on a 2004 yet? If so, have you experienced neutral light glow?

I'm interested, but apprehensive at the moment.

To anybody who has installed one and experiences the neutral light glow, how much does it glow. 1 - 5 -- 1 being "super faint" / 5 being "in neutral dude"

Thanks
