I want to remove my swing arm to paint flat black, as road grime and chain lube on bare aluminum is fairly unsightly.

I have the tool to remove the swingarm.

How difficult was it for you to yank it? If I remember correctly, I need to remove the exhaust headers to get the swing arm off. Is this true?

remove shock, exhaust, wheel etc...

just pull it out.

btw, the swingarm is paint silver stock to look like bare AL, same with the frame. get it sand blasted before you paint it, shouldnt cost much and you know it will be free of any dirt or grime. Plus after something is sandblasted, its the best surface for paint to stick to. Just use some self etching primer.

Who ever blasts it needs to put ductape over the bearings and try not to get near the tape.
