Just lubed my chain for the first time this past week. (used bike picked up this winter) Started making grinding squealing noise right away, only under power. Started to freak. Is this normal. Seems only to happen in 2nd and up, and only under power.

Was reading this could be from the chain. What causes this if it is the problem.

Please tell me this will go away. Started to think my tranny is messed.

Yup, your chain is toast. It will go away when you install a new chain. ;D

What causes it is the surging of the chain as the tight/loose sections make their way around. It's more pronounced at higher speed, and especially under load.

also happens with a good chain if its too tight. kinda sounds like a turbo/turbine noise. also depends on how well you cleaned your chain, and how well it was lubed. remember alot of lubes like being applied on a hot chain.
