Take a look at that chain (only 2200 miles).

Nice shade of red:

a little bit of rust on the chain says nothing about how it was used, it does say it mightve sat outside for a week or two in the rain.

Looks like red grease to me, could be my monitor. Chain is limper than a 70 year old's dick though.
lol what are you talking about, the guy points out a a 2 specs where the paint is a little messed up. that bike is very clean, he just didn't remember to lube/clean the chain.
probably an old guy too. From the looks of those tires someone certainly wasn't riding it very hard.

Like I said, looked like red grease.
That is rust! He probably left it outside and didn't know your supposed to lube the chain.

So my monitor sucks, sue me :p

When I got my bike from my brother the chain looked exactly the same after sitting outside (in FL) for 5 months. BTW, you thinking about buying this bike? ...looks nice.
really with all that's wrong with the world and were going to gripe about this? My guess is noobie didn't know to do anything with the chain. Heck I don't abuse my bike but my chain on the other hand get beat to hell. Besides look at those tires, fresh armor all?
That rust isn't a sign of abuse. It's a sign of sitting for a while. What's the worry?
GAH! Last time, my monitor sucks and it looked like red grease.

JPL: I'm bike shopping and keeping my options open ;) I may just have to squid out for the next bike.
Well, paint the dang thing red so you don't get all in a huff over a bit of "red grease"...
I once bought a can if chain grease that was actually red. :)

Ciao

Just needs to be cleaned and adjusted.

Looks like it wasn't ridden very hard, check out those chicken strips!

That bike is pristine actually. I'd buy it in a second if I were in the market for one.
I've always been told that red grease showing is bed because it means that the o-rings have failed. In 2200 miles, that seemed a bit absurd...

Alright, fine... I'm a man, I can take the flogging.

People 'round these parts don't have the ability to get rid of those strips. They'll just run WOT everywhere they go.

that says nothing about how many drag races or burnouts it has done!

my bosses son has an '07 gsx-r 600 and I was looking at it one day and my boss goes, "yeah, he needs a new tire". There are 2" chicken strips and the center is BALD. I don't think my boss, being a rider nonetheless, had a clue why the kid got so few miles out of it! :roflmao:

The center of the tire on this bike looks normal though.
Look at the rear sprocket. Not an ounce of lube to be found. Zero chain maintenance.
