Went for a nice ride today up highway 33 here in SoCal and had a good time despite crashing. Overall about a 100 mile round trip with some snow on the edges of the road above 4000 feet. Went through a nice water crossing which on a bobber SV results in a lot of water on your backside. On my way back home I got distracted when I saw a spot that BRShooter on here had taken a nice picture. His thread is:

I made it out ok with no damage to myself. The bike got a little with my exhaust getting slightly tweaked, my bar end bolt bending pretty hard and the bikemaster daytona bars that I just put on are tweaked so only about $25 worth of actual damage. Like I said, overall good time. Pictures and video for your enjoyment.

Target fixation? Looks almost like you didn't even lean! Good thing it worked out well...could have been very very bad.

PS WTF is up with the bottom of the webpage now?
Glad you didn't go over the edge. Peace.
Hugger wont help, they arent long enough
Bummer,, That turn looked sharp! Did it intimidate you last second?
Wow. That looked close.

Anyway, I was thinking about taking a ride up there this weekend, since the weather has improved, but your PIC has me reconsidering. Maybe a trip the the beach instead?
I was looking off to the right and not paying attention and the turn was much closer than expected when I looked back. If I was properly set for it, there wouldn't have been a problem with the speed I was going but since it crept up on me I messed up. Keep your eyes on the road.
I did the same thing a few yrs. ago, we're BOTH lucky we're still here!!
Wow. I feel like I would have gone down sooner. Glad you're OK.
Glad you're ok. I watched the vid twice trying to figure out why you crashed. Explanation of not paying attention finally sorted it out. Good you came out of it with so little damage. A few more feet and you mighta been a goner.
I'm just never gonna feel that whole bobber SV look.
Oh man!! Way to cheat death, there!

Yeah...that's one of those that shouldn't have happend. At least you have the cohones to post it up on the internet! :lmao:

Lots of water on that crossing, too. I gotta make the loop down there. Think I'll run 101-166-33-101-154-101 when I go and hang in Santa Barbara for a bit.
Here is the route a took today http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou....262324,-119.252815&spn=0.06512,0.169258&z=13
C on the map is where I went down

Same here.

Sorry to hear about your crash. My wife was watching the video over my shoulder and said: "Why did he do that!?" I didn't get it either until I read your explanation.
Glad to hear you're alright. Enjoy the scenery on the video after.

By the way, what camera are you using?

he ran out of talent.

glad you're not hurt though.

Im using a canon A1000 point and shoot with a RAM mount. Right now the video is pretty shaky so I need to see if I can mount it better. Here is the full 11 minute clip with the crash at the end if you want to see the shakyness. It uploaded with poop quality though

Glad you got her(or him if you prefer) stopped in time and made it out OK. Also thanks for posting... just another great reminder to keep my eyes alert no matter what.
I'm way down in SD so I haven't hit any of the good roads up your way, but from the video that road looks quite rough - Is it?
