Hey yall.
For whatever reason, the custom SV650 chain kit that I ordered from AFAM has about 1.5 inches of slack, with the wheel all the way back.
(I'll not get into all the qualms about AFAM right now...)

The chain has less than 5k miles on it, and I can't tighten it any more.
Would it be alright to put a new rivet link on an older chain?
Would removing one link be sufficient?

Sure, you can use a new rivet master link in the old chain. Removing one pair of links should be enough.

yeah, I figured it would be fine.
I think the guy at the shop just wanted to sell me another chain.
