I installed a gixxer shock on my wife's and we used a Suzuki DRZ-SM battery, the motard bike. It's perfect, we don't run any lights at all so the reduce AH rating is not a problem.

The stock battery's pretty marginal in terms of output for cold starts etc anyway, so depending on your riding you'll maybe want to be very careful what you choose... I wouldn't want to lose capacity but I'd sooner lose a couple of amp-hours capacity than much off the max CCA.

I need something sealed and small enough to put under the rear seat cowl on an 02.

I plan on getting a pyramid rear seat cowl

How about this one: interstate batteries

Product ID: FAYTX4L(MotorCycles)
Cold Cranking Amps: 50
Voltage: 12

Width: 2.81
