Has anyone used or is anyone successfully using one of these modules in their brake light system. With this installed , your brake light will turn on when the engine is braking, you are downshifting, and of course the usual brakes being applied. Sounds great, doesn't it? A simple little module with 3 connections to make, compatible with all motorcycles, 12v or 6v bulb voltages, LEDs, halogen or HID brake lights!

I can't get mine to work properly, as when I connect the 3rd wire, the brake lights go full on. The only thing I can think of is product failure or there is a trick to the installation that I missed. Any Ideas anyone?

Thank you for reminding me. (1) Instruction sheet note wire colors and any notes I have made. (2) Main brake light line tapped ready for connection (the red taps apply to this job) (3) ST2 Module wires tapped ready to be connected per instruction sheet. (Blue taps are used for luggage rack brake lights)

Here's what I have done. (1) Luggage wiring just added a few days before and the case is removed and problem was before luggage. I will, however, cut the wires off today to keep the problem simple. 2) Note the velcro on the side. It was meticulously placed horizontally in the compartment but removed from the instructed position to take the pictures of the wiring. I have held it in my hand and moved it to different positions and even shook it gently: Sounds like little ball bearings inside; broken? 3) I just yesterday put my multi-meter to the ground wire at the factory harness and no ground! That will be solved today, as this complicates the situation.

Here's what you all have helped me reason out so far. The problem was when 2 wires were connected to the ST2, the brake lights worked perfectly. When I connected the 3rd wire, the brake light went to always on. There must be an internal short in the module and it's faulty. I tried to email the seller and the emails (2 diff addresses) failed delivery. I was hoping someone else had actually used the device and had a better customer service address than myself. The way this is going, I'm hoping to solve this with a new unit before Xmas.

So: if all 3 wires connected = brake lights " constant on" ...is a mounting issue, tilting the box back a bit, the lights should go off correct ?

Then you find the level/ mounting position that makes it work with out being too active.

..was it just a mounting issue for everyone ?

Fwiw i just installed one of these ST2's

No problems with brake light being on after every thing is connected and powered up.....

I noticed I connected mine above the plug vs behind it ... wonder if that makes any difference..? cant imagine it does.. my tail light wires are different than OE, as i'm running an after market LED tail lamp. My setup also involves a Vizitec Supabrake programmable brake light unit,.. I tapped in b4 the plug because the plug-n-play vizitec unit connects in-between the male/female tail lamp connector lead plugs.

I am hoping they play well together, it seems they should just each do their thing when they are supposed to as they do different things at different times...so,..I shouldn't have any issues...we shall see.

Confirmed the Vizi-tec is working here in my living room, I cant test the ST2 'til I can take a ride with a friend and have him tell me if it lites up when i roll off....

'Til then...

I have been having the same issue. If you tilt the wire side down then the light goes off but when I start the bike in my garage and give gas, the brake light come on. So this module supposedly works on deceleration but it works with bike sitting still, but when reviewing

i have the same issue. When I tilt the wire side down sort of steeply, the brake lights stays off but when i start the bike and rev the throttle, brake light comes on although bike is not moving thus, not decelerating. It’s supposed to work when bike slows down and not when the motor is on. I can’t upload the video here.

It looks simple, so it could be a bad, or miscalibrated, module. You could draw your own schematic of how the luggage rack lights are wired in conjunction with that new module, just in case…
The tapping connectors came with the module was causing flickering when I tapped the wires. So I used mu own and that went away. Then now I moved the module location under the rear fender and tapped it really tight with Guerrilla double sided tape as well as the wire coming out of the module. One thing I changed is I turned the module where the logo and arrow facing up where it’s gives solid light. When I moved the bike slowly now the light didn’t stay on but the initial rev still cause the light to come on. This might be good because when you are at a stop where you may have to make more than one stop, people behind be more careful. Will see.

I think I probably made a mistake connecting the ST2 to the harness before the plug to the rr tail light... the Vizi-tec harness has male / female plugs that connect to each end of the OE harness with the module sitting in between.

The ST2 reacts to the dynamic G force it senses and activates power to the light when that force passes what ever threshold it has for a trigger, the vizi-tec reacts to the actual power signal going to the light.

If I understand how it all should work, the Vizi-tec module in its current position after the ST2, will see the power being sent to the light on decel by the ST2 and should/will react to that signal based on how I have it programmed....this could be a problem or maybe not, but probably lol, it makes sense it should be affected somewhat by the ST2 activating power to the light as it is designed to every time it senses decel...which should mess with the Vizi-tec's programming that controls how it responds to the power signal to the tail light....

It seems to make better sense to move the ST2 module taps from just before the plug for the tail light, (IE: before the Vizitec module ) to just after the plug so the ST2,..if I can get it to work as its supposed to lol,...is NOT affecting the signal to the Vizitec no matter what......

Make sense to anyone else...?
