Hey all. I'm located in Buffalo, NY and I'm thinking about driving down to Scranton, PA to pick up this bike: http://scranton.craigslist.org/mcy/1009394522.html

This would be my first nice bike (I have an '82 Honda CM450 I learned on last summer) and I know very little about what I should check for. The dealer normally sells cars, so he doesn't know much about bikes either. There's no marks to indicate it's been down and it sounds / drives great according to him.

-What could be wrong on an SV with 2700 miles on it?
-Is there any way to tell if the engine was broken in improperly (driven too hard at first)?
-Is 3200 a good price on the bike? It seems significantly cheaper than what I've been seeing for 2nd gen. SVs. He said he priced it by asking a friend at a local bike shop what he would pay for it.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Agreed. This seems to be a sweet deal. Only problem with timing is that it will take 7 - 10 days to get a hitch installed on my car so I can head down with a trailer.

Putting money down on the bike sight unseen seems like a bad idea...

Thanks for all the advice!

Put the down payment on it! Driving down with a buddy of mine who has a truck, ramp, and straps this Friday (offered to pay him a hundred, even though he would have done it for free). So excited for this one!

Now the long wait til spring...

Did you know about it before I posted, or were you gonna swipe it from me?

If you were gonna swipe it... You son of a B!!

Anyway, so excited that I could crap my pants. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
