It's a generic Amazon one. I think the brand is motocentric. It's showing its age finally and looking for a replacement. However I do love sport tours and I kind of want to do hard saddlebacks. I'm almost wondering if I can retrofit some off of the GSXS 1000. So far I haven't found anything aftermarket that can be painted the same color to match the rest of the bike and look good.

Yeah only for the aesthetics tho. I know soft ones are better for carrying awkwardly shaped items.

1. On the right side, the brake fluid reservoir was in the way.
2. The brackets wouldn't go all the way around the handlebar. Not shaped well?
3. It was really hard tightening the nuts from down below because some metal part or the other would be in the way.

How did you manage this feat?!

Any chance you can post pics of the positioning of telescopic handles on the handlebars? Also, the positioning of the pipe clamps on the forks. Appreciate it.

Yeah no prob il post up some pics as soon as I can. I did have to use some brackets I already had from a previous windshield off of one of my cruisers but they're basic clamps that go on the forks. The trick for this bike was to install the two smaller rods that are supposed to go on the bottom of the shield actually used on top and the longer rods for the top on the bottom.

Interesting 🤔, I got one set for the top and set for the bottom. Both with different style of brackets. The ones for the handlebars and the bullet looking plastic ones. I'm wondering if it's the same part number on our shields.

I see it now. You must've got the U-Clamp mount version N25000. Mine was quick-set version N25010. I can see on their site that yours has different length of rods. Maybe I should try the U-Clamp version myself.

I think you may be able to buy those rods separately from national cycle with the part number on the instructions. That's if you're willing to give it another shot and try to make it work. I think that's where you had your issue.

Its not gonna block all the wind. But my head sits a lot lower than stock and works for me. It does help but a bigger windshield would be better in terms of wind deflection.

Iwhat it does do is smooth the wind really nice. I didn't want to be behind a barn door and feel no wind at all so its perfect for me. Also I love the look. A bigger windshield makes the bike look smaller than it is.

Got the U-Clamp version today, and it went on without any trouble. In fact, the rods went where they were supposed to (longer ones on the top). As a result, the shield stands up pretty vertical (as it is supposed to, I think). Pretty happy so far - mostly just admiring it in the garage as for now Have a long trip later today, so I'll get to test it out.

I had given up on installing a shield. The conversation with you steered me to the U-Clamp version, which worked. So thanks for that!

No problem 👍 I angled mine as far back as I could without hitting the cluster. But my control set up is different. Let me know what you think on the highway. I'm curious to know your thoughts on how effective it is.

Oh - I found out that the stupid thing messed up the handlebar paint (or whatever it is). But I suppose the bike should have some battle scars anyway.

I was battling a wind buffeting issue on my Honda Shadow cruiser bike for a while. There's a science to it and also trial and error. If only we could rent a wind tunnel and try on different shields! For me the street shield works but I have had better so I know what you're saying. The very top edge of the windshield is probably the most important. Some windshields come with a bit of a swoop up top. Other cruiser guys put the rolled up blanket in front and they say that's better than the windshield but I'm not sure never tried that.
