It might be pretty damm ugly but its a sweet touring mode set up for the long weekends and more importantly the rally! A JC Whitney large top case and some oxford sports saddle bags. This set up has a suprising amount of storage room for everything.

Not bad. I like how reflective those bags are. That is something I am looking for with my setup. 150 mile round trip with the trip down around 4am being seen is always a plus. Is there reflective material on the back as well? Or did you use some tape??

Looks good. Question, is your hard bag mounted to your bike with screws/nails, etc... or is it "clipped" on so your can remove it quickly if you wanted to? I am curious about how versitle hard bags can be.

Doesnt the JCW top case, mount to a base that replaces the passenger seat when needed? sorta like a rear cowl!

Do a search on SVR using 'whitney' as I believe there are quite a few photos around here.

What i did was bought a used rear seat took a lot of padding out of it and bolted the universal mounting plate that came with the JC Whitney case onto it with 4 bolts. So now ill i have to do is swap the rear seat or solo cowl peice with this bracket seat i made for the case and i have a touring set up with the Top Case. So with a quick turn of a key both the mounting plate can be taken off and replaced with the stock seat or the mounting bracket can be left on and just the hard case can come off the bracket.
